Back in October last year, I was invited to the most beautiful wedding in the Northern Rivers countryside. Michelle and Scott are currently living in London but they flew back home to Australia to throw the wedding of the century for their family and friends!
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about “where was that amazing wedding that you went to?!” on Facebook so I’m excited to finally share these photos on the blog (now that the official photos are live on The Lane).
From Kingscliff (a northern New South Wales beach town), we travelled inland to Velleron House in the hinterland. The festivities were set up on the lawn of this private residence, which set the backdrop beautifully for the day.
^ This wooden barn turned into the whisky and cigar lounge at the end of the night.
We took our seats in anticipation for the outdoor ceremony.
And then the magic started …
The civil ceremony was short and sweet – filled with heartfelt words, everlasting vows and tears of joy.
Weddings certainly are the most happiest of days.
Afterwards, us suave and stylish guests enjoyed an outdoor picnic of champagne, cocktails and canapés.
The newlyweds also cut the cake for us to eat in the afternoon. A great idea that I think people should do more at weddings (because I hate missing out on cake at the end of the night!)
^ You can see more of these babes from the hen’s day in the Scenic Rim.
I will always be a city girl, but it’s places like these that make me think twice about what I’m missing out on in the countryside.
Stunners! In fact, everything about this wedding was breathtaking – the rest of us couldn’t wait to tell our social media feeds about it.
As the sky turned dark, we retired to the marquee for a candlelit feast.
And my camera also retired to somewhere safe so that I could participate 100% in the merriment that followed.
We danced and drank whisky with the happy couple, devoured Dello Mano brownies which were given to us as favours, and squealed in excitement when the fireworks (yes, fireworks!) started. I definitely encourage you to check out the wedding album on The Lane for the official photos.
Michelle and Scott, thank you for letting me share thees photos of your special day. And finally – how will the rest of us ever be able to compete with this wedding?!
