Turning 29 and feelin’ fine.
After finishing my second term at INSEAD, I travelled to London for the break.
These days, I have more friends living in London than I have back in Brisbane. So going to London feels a bit like going home, except I get to catch up with my friends in way more cool places!
I celebrated my 29th birthday over lunch at Chiltern Firehouse with Maggie and Julia. Years ago, we made a pact that we would all escape Brisbane and be living the dream in London by 2015. I’m pleased to report that #London2015 finally happened … in 2016. And I’m actually in France rather than London, but hey close enough!
Cheers to another year older. As my good friend Harry would say, sully forth the rosé!
You have probably heard of Chiltern Firehouse (1 Chiltern Street, London W1U 7PA) before. It’s a Neo-Gothic ex-firehouse turned designer hotel and restaurant in London’s darling Marylebone area.
If you get can get a last minute reservation for dinner here, that’s damn impressive. Otherwise, brunch here has become something of a London institution – the kind of brunch that starts with a glass of champagne and ends four hours later, followed by drinks in the hotel’s garden courtyard.
